Salvage title 2001 Dodge Viper RT/10 for $20,900.00
I would make it look like a giant V10 Caterham, with a chopped windshield and sidepipes.

So much added lightness.

Why not go-kart?

It would look like that, but with a Caterham body.
karts have the motor behind/next to the driver, btw...

I want to take off the hood, doors, trunk lid, chop off the quarter panels and weld in a massive chassis/engine/inside/trunk cage. I'd weld a small box in the back to act as a trunk. I'd leave the windshield, roof and doors and complete interior (minus carpet) for a light and awesome as hell track car.

Part out all of the body panels and interior pieces until it hits $500.

2 inch lift, gravel tires, a cage and some PIAAs. Fastest rally crash ever almost guaranteed.
